Hollie Geraghty
is a freelance journalist & creative copywriter covering music, film, TV, dance and culture.
I have a gold-standard NCTJ journalism diploma from News Associates, with bylines in NME, Rolling Stone UK, HuffPost UK, The Guardian, Dance Magazine and more.
I have interviewed talent including Katy Perry, Stormzy, Ellie Goulding, Rosamund Pike, Mark Ronson, Beabadoobee, Lauv and Gracie Abrams.
I'm also a copywriter and have written blog posts, guest articles, press releases and website copy for 30+ brands and businesses across a variety creative industries. I regularly write artist biographies and have worked with various labels at Universal and Warner Music along with independent artists. I have also written commercial partner content for international music festivals as well as brands like Hennessy and DHL.
I am the editor-in-chief of my own online publication The Irish Dance Globe, a hub for everything Irish dance, including monthly digital cover stories with world champions, professional dancers and viral TikTok stars. In 2024 we published our debut print issue which sold in 10 countries.
My formative journalistic experiences include being the film editor of my university's entertainment magazine, interning at a TV news station in Vietnam, passing 100 words-per-minute shorthand and turning up at my first film junket as a student without being told all the interviews would be filmed.
While I'm mostly London-based, I love to travel and I'm a firm believer that work is where the WiFi is, having worked remotely from Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Spain and Ireland over the past two years.
In my spare time, I lead a music and chat mental health group in my local borough, roller skate, pore over my favourite travel magazines, go for long walks in London's best parks and learn Phoebe Bridgers songs on the guitar.
